My working theory:
Most people are devoid of passion or any real sense of meaning. (This is why so many people default into kids, pets, and religion.)
Because of this you can con most people into almost anything by displaying large amounts of passion yourself.
(Being attractive helps a lot tho!)

Yeah, I'm torn. The Oscar slap was a great example of why it's not good to make fun of people (words have impact).
But I also truly believe people are too sensitive / caught up in their selves.
I tend to do what you say tofu though: only make fun of people's choices

I’ve been told I am. My Aunt said I need to go on tour.
I think I can be funny but it’s more reactionary vs standing up and doing a script/story.
I will say I don’t enjoy comedians who make fun of people it’s weird. Specifically their looks or things they can’t control.

Moving forward…
![I’m finally embracing that, as one person with a very few dedicated volunteers, I can’t keep trying to hold up the sky alone, so I’ve made peace with how I’m moving forward:
1. I’m choosing to focus on function over form [great content with little, to no production because I just don’t have the capacity]

it can seem like nazis are everywhere all the time these days but just wanna make clear they are an extremely small fraction of the population using massive platforms to seem louder. and a major part of that intent is for you to become less sensitive to nazism.

For me, I'm using it more like I used to use Twitter in aeons past. It's not for advertising. It's to chat. Twitter feels like I'm standing on a street corner hawking my wares.
How I notice myself using Bluesky differently from The Other Place:
* Much less reposting news of any sort
* Less general negative snarking
* Less overt self-promotion
* More being in people's replies
* More following people I didn't already know/follow elsewhere
* About the same ALL CAPS comments
