Vancouver 2026 Election Watch: OneCity has formally announced they plan to run a mayoral candidate next year, and will hold a primary to choose their candidate.

I'm told their could be multiple candidates announcing in the next week.

Which means no sign of any OneCity-Green-COPE agreement.

City of Vancouver continues to use the horrendously misleading comparison of property taxes for the "median single family home" as their headline number despite that only 14.6% of homes are single family (per CMHC, & I believe that includes laneways), averaging $2.8M.

This Vancouver block on Robson Street at Seymour used to have a row of thriving businesses that had been there for decades; a frame shop; a bike repair shop and an Indian restaurant., etc. it’s been a vacant lot gone to weed since a development permit was issued 5+ years ago. #VanPoli

This undeveloped city block at Georgia and Beattie, once Larwill Park, was later leased out as a (long since defunct) bus depot. In 2022, ABC voted to remove temporary modular housing erected to address the housing crisis. It has been used as a parking lot since then. #VanPoli
