This Vancouver block on Robson Street at Seymour used to have a row of thriving businesses that had been there for decades; a frame shop; a bike repair shop and an Indian restaurant., etc. it’s been a vacant lot gone to weed since a development permit was issued 5+ years ago. #VanPoli

This undeveloped city block at Georgia and Beattie, once Larwill Park, was later leased out as a (long since defunct) bus depot. In 2022, ABC voted to remove temporary modular housing erected to address the housing crisis. It has been used as a parking lot since then. #VanPoli

ABC’s zero sum game approach to budgeting and its early decision to significantly increase the VPD budget has landed Vancouver in the situation where ABC is unable to provide for our non-policing needs like replacing aging infrastructure. #VanPoli

Not as “lucky” as the Sud Cafe is the Plaisir Sucre Bakery that has waiting to open just as long as Sud, but still hasn’t got its permits in place. #VanPoli #Vancouver

Sud Cafe, located at the mini-park at Comox + Cardero in the West End Vancouver, finally opens after waiting 2 years to receive its building permits and business license.

It should be easier for people to open small businesses without lengthy and expensive carrying costs. #VanPoli

Happy to see that a mid-block path between Melville and Pender was kept and improved when The Stack was developed next to the Loden Hotel on Melville. It’s great for pedestrians . #VanPoli #VanRE #AltTransportation

I came across this parklet at 13th Ave and Granville St. recently. I’d like to see more of this street reclamation in Vancouver, perhaps on Denman Street to restore it as a neighbourhood street instead of a commuter lane for North Shore drivers. #VanPoli

When I passed by Haro Crest Apartments a few days ago I was sad to see that the plaques of all the provincial crests were missing. So I was happy to see them refurbished and back in their places today in the #WestEnd
