The navel-gazing, fiefdom-building, self-interest protecting attitudes are nihilistic and grotesque.

Democratic leadership needs a total reset, for the sake of the party, if not for the sake of this nation’s actual DEMOCRACY.
These folks never think "maybe we could've won OH, PA, MT with smarter plan," or "maybe Ron Johnson isn't teflon, and we need to rethink things."

And still, all of this for them is about control and power within the party far more than winning - electorally or otherwise - against Trump.

Too many thoughts on this, but will start with yes, good for them! And the Fight Clubbers created this article specifically (in part) because there was real pushback against the whole caucus, and the brand. Individual self-preservation + trying to sustain that push www.nytimes.com/2025/11/24/u...

When the moment came to blow apart a universal moment of energy, optimism, forward momentum for the anti-Trump, pro-democracy movement, say often:

It wasn't progressives or DSA. It wasn't the young people running against the gerontocracy, or primarying those captured by the institution.

Boils down to: These Dems do not have the stomach to win the fight they are in. Whether it’s this shutdown or something else someday, they have to be willing to fight a truly bloody fight through to victory, and they just aren’t.

This cave sucks, but the true disaster is there’s no pretense left.
For a lot of senators they have people yelling in one ear about airline delays and food stamps and a bunch of other cascading problems and in the other about health care. Ds who flipped say it’s clear Rs were never going to give them what they wanted.

Both Senate Democrats and Republicans have failed in their responsibility to address the health care crisis and rein in a dangerous president who consistently ignores Congress’s authority and the rule of law. This “deal” is offensive to the American people and I won’t support it.

Carefully choreographed votes and angry press releases are all cute, but the indication of whether anyone in the caucus really cares is whether there’s any push for leadership changes or punitive action against the cavers.

There won’t be, but that would be the theoretical sign this is different
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)

gotta be some ambitious Dems in NV, NH and PA who would be happy to run in a presidential year at the end of a staggeringly unpopular second Trump term

Every Senate Democrat that votes for this so-called “deal” needs to be primaried and unseated. This is absolutely unacceptable. WTAF, you spineless cowards. You’re a bunch of fucking scabs.

Unionize!
99% of us on the wrong side of their doors

They get tax breaks, we pay twice, and fight their wars

And we wonder why they cut scholarships and aid

It’s designed to keep the status quo, we’re the new slaves

Time to repeal Virginia's right to work law. Should be the first bill.
Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.
