Then, while on the 100 Years Apart tour at the Tenement Museum, was so moved by the significant impact and meaningful incorporation of the role of the ILGWU in the story of a Chinese immigrant garment worker and her family—her whole community, actually. “Union is good. Solidarity is good.” 😍✊🏼 #1u

I’ve been spending a long weekend in NYC & each day here, I’m discovering facets of my beloved labor movement that I didn’t know existed, & I love it so much.

Found out Central Park Boathouse is unionized, when I noticed some staff wearing their union pins! Delicious food & great service! 🥰 #1u

It remind me a little bit of the San Diego Padres City Connect palette. Though, I suppose it can technically be argued that it’s more of a 4-color palette if you count the white background…

It’s the final weekend b4 Election Day for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors D1 race. The outcome of this special election will determine control of San Diego County, a region of nearly 3.3 million people. Our unions are leaving nothing to chance, & have collectively knocked 1000s of doors.

When asked how we can get the UC system to better support their workers, Betty Yee described what she learned from workers on the picket lines how UC’s medical systems continue to balancing their budgets on the backs of their workers. She said that needs to stop.

When asked if they would support expanding PLAs across the state, all the candidates said, yes. Pro Tem Emeritus Toni Atkins added that when she was in office, not only were workers at the table, they were setting the agenda.

At the @californialabor.bsky.social & CA State BTC Joint Legislative Conference, gubernatorial candidates are duking it out over who can be more pro-worker and pro-labor.

Senator @Kim.senate.gov is here--and he's talking about his family's Korean immigrant story, what America meant to his parents when they came here 50 years ago, and what it means to him now.

It's really meaningful to me to see an elected who shares my Korean-American heritage at #NABTU2025.

My first time hearing from Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez--really appreciated her very matter-of-fact & smart ways of talking about our values, and how they can't be politicized.

"You know what you can't spin? Whether a car runs after you service it. It either does or it doesn't." (She's a mechanic.)

We're at the opening plenary of the #NABTU2025, where NABTU leadership began w/a land acknowledgement, an invocation that named our SMART Local 100 brother, Kilmar Obrego Garcia, & an affirmation of our commitment to believing that diversity is strength, equity is a good, & inclusion our practice.

Nothing projects power, capacity, and strength like not being able to handle someone else’s pronouns. 🙄

It’s like they’re 12 year olds making penis jokes and snapping bra straps, and imagining they’re being brave and clever. 😒

If you see this, post a unicorn you've painted/drawn. 🦄

This is probably my favorite Easter Egg that I've ever decorated.

To be honest, I feel like EVERY beat anyone could cover is primarily a labor and finance story. Those things are at the core of *everything.*

Though, I’m also the person who about 15 minutes into watching “Alien,” for the first time, pointed at the screen and exclaimed, “This is a labor movie!”
