This makes me so angry. Sustainability related products and services should be a strong growth component of our economy. The Trump policies are a big step in the wrong direction for our state.

Holy Moses. I recommend you click through the Google Doc link and read the whole thing.
Former UVA president Jim Ryan, who resigned over the summer due to pressure from the Trump Administration, just shared this 12-page letter with the Faculty Senate, detailing his experience with the Board of Visitors and DOJ.

It's a surreal--and troubling--read.

This implications of this bullshit Hitler DNA project are absolute trash. You can't determine whether someone's gonna become a Nazi via DNA. The effort to explain things that way is itself the kind of thing Nazis would do.

So this is the new modus operandi. If the numbers are bad, just don't ever release them. If the files contain damning info on Dear Leader, don't ever release them.

Lie, deny—rinse and repeat.

In a nutshell, younger people are hosed.
The median age of all U.S. homebuyers is now 59 years old.

Just 15 years ago, it was 39 years old.

I don't want to read another word about "grooming" ever again from the Republicans. Every time someone posts that word you are morally obligated to share the Megyn Kelly video with them

In light of today’s email dump, I will say I have at various times found my way into online discussion spaces containing a fair number of important and powerful men, and it is the greatest cure to imposter syndrome that humanity has yet devised

Not only is the content appalling, but the writing is execrable. This is the guy who contends he is only and always about upholding the highest academic standards.

Yeah, fuck that shit.
Here's the full Summers email, btw.

Science isn't about *opinions*, it's about hypotheses and evidence. It's about theories that fit the evidence best.
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

Public sector employment at historic lows for modern times.

Same for taxes

SSA has the most efficiency of any pension system

Medicare is the most efficient health care delivery

Any implicit framing that gov needs to be smaller or more efficient should be instantly challenged

What the hell, @nytimes.com?!? This is the most preposterous candidate (Jack Schlossberg) photograph I’ve ever seen. I guess you're taking the new "no standards" policy as literally as possible!

This administration made the decision that keeping immigration enforcement fully staffed was more important than keeping air traffic control staffed. That was a DECISION. Everyone needs to know that.

Why am I not seeing more posts from people I follow in my "FOLLOWING" feed? I went looking for some of them and find that they've been happily posting up a storm, and I'm not seeing any of it. Why, @bsky.app? I thought we left that filtering, algorithmic stuff behind at the Bad Place!

Okay, I'll admit I've been wrong about some stuff. And I'll admit some (not much, tbh) of it was political stuff.

And by far the wrongest I’ve ever been about a political thing was Fetterman.
notable but not surprising that Fetterman chose Fox & Friends as the place to promote his new book

For the record, it’s going to be a long while before my anger subsides at the Democrats who surrendered. They’ve made this fight harder. But I won’t allow my anger to distract from the necessary focus on Trump & the feckless Republicans who will exploit every weakness to intensify their demolition.

Everything you need to know about Bari Weiss can be summed up in one quotation: "What’s the point of standards?"

Kiss your actual journalism goodbye.
“I’ve been hearing that standards will be eliminated or severely cut back. Bari has told people that she wants to get rid of standards and is shocked that they have so much power. She also asked openly, ‘What’s the point of standards?’” one CBS source said.
