Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.
US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

What I loved about Bad Bunny Bowl is that he reminded us that at his core his music is ✨filthy✨ and I love that about him. Not cleaning up your roots is also an act of resistance and shaking ass is universal.

AI should deliver progress for workers, not just profits for big tech CEOs. AFL-CIO President @lizshuler.bsky.social joined @californialabor.bsky.social and labor leaders from across the country to address how we need guardrails to protect our rights, jobs and freedoms so workers can benefit from AI

People get hung up (reasonably) on the "walkable" cities frame because many people cannot walk or have problems walking

I propose: human scale cities

as in: a city where the spaces I am in are built for human bodies, and not two ton high speed murder machines

I am obsessed with the story of the first times people wanted to build gas stations in cities

"yeah so I want to put this extremely flammable toxic liquid in the middle of the city and also I want non-specialists to handle it all day long"

city planners at the time were like "...excuse me?"

you don't know your neighbors because of cars

your city doesn't make enough in taxes because of cars

busses are slow because of cars

they won't build light rail because of cars

your city's air is awful because of cars

one of the leading causes of death and injury from accident: cars

ambulances are so loud because of cars

you can't walk to get a coffee because of cars

you have to drive everywhere because everything is built far apart because of cars

you have to wear reflective gear to jog in your neighborhood because of cars

you fear for your dog's life because of cars

this is so central to who I am
I don't post enough about the other central pillar of my politics, aside from anti fascism: being anti car

cars are bad in almost every way, especially in cities

if you go to even large, bustling cities that are actually dense, they are quieter than US cities because you can get away from cars

ICE is deploying AI surveillance against protesters. This isn’t new or isolated — it’s the same surveillance tools already being used to monitor workers.

Unchecked AI puts civil liberties at risk at work, in public, and in our democracy.

Until the year of our lord 2025 I don’t think I had ever thought about the Packers. But I married into the Bears and now I have watched three games. The cheeseheads are my sworn enemy. I have a makeshift altar with a cheese grater. I wish them nothing but the worst.
