So not getting out of your car now is an executable offense.
Kristi Noem on the officer who killed Renee Good: “This is an experienced officer who followed his training…They were impeding our law enforcement operations, which is against the law, and when they demanded and commanded her to get out of her vehicle several times, she did not.”

BREAKING: The Senate just PASSED a bill to prevent war with Venezuela.

Don't let anyone tell you this is just symbolic. We will keep pushing until it passes the House, and then we push to pass it with a veto-proof majority.

No war. No occupation.

Goon1 tries to open her car door; she gets scared and starts turning the car around. Meanwhile, Goon2 (shooter) has positioned himself near the front corner of her car to try to prevent her from driving away so Goon1 can get her out of the car.

When it’s clear she’s getting away, Goon2 opens fire.
A slowed-down version of the Minneapolis ICE shooting from the 3 known angles where you can see one masked agent trying to take the woman out of her car and the other ICE agent shooting through her driver-side window.

This is murder.

Given Julia’s sources, I suspect that this is a career person who is actually well trained and not authorized to speak publicly, and not an admin political official who will defend the ICE officer no matter what.
This seems significant: not a FORMER DHS official, but a SENIOR (current) one saying the officer who fired acted counter to training.

This is not an admin that admits mistakes. And they are hanging this guy out to dry on Day One.

I think they know this is bad. Really bad.

The woman killed by ICE was Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old who was the mother of a 4-year old child whose father already died a few years ago.

HuffPost has obtained a video of a physician trying to give medical care to the woman shot and killed by ICE agents today, and not being allowed to go near her.

The ICE agents claim there are medics on site, but witnesses scream that there are no medics present.

quiet history: Denmark has held Greenland for 300 years. In fact, a 1916 pact with the US recognized Denmark's ownership of Greenland in exchange for giving up the Danish West Indies, which became the US Virgin Islands. A later NATO pact allows the US to increase its military presence there at will

Amount of blood US has expended defending Greenland: zero. Amount of blood Denmark has expended defending the US: 43 Danish soldiers gave their lives in Afghanistan, responding to a US appeal under article 5 of NATO. Ogles has no idea about any of this, because he's an incompetent buffoon.
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. We've spilled more blood protecting Greenland than the Danes... we are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere"

If you are a Republican lawmaker....YOU fucking did this. YOU enabled him. YOU supported him. YOU voted with him. YOU didn't remove him.

Today...because of YOU...this...is what the White House website has on it today.

Don't you dare point at him. YOU did this.

Way down the list on how insane and evil this is, but... just a point of con law trivia, I guess: the president doesn't have the power to annex territory. Like, even assuming we militarily occupied it. Just on the domestic law angle, it still wouldn't be "part of the US" w/o Congress saying so.
TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

This happened about 20 minutes ago. And Senator Kelly has already responded and said he’ll fight.
When Congress continues to let Hegseth get away with violating the law without even attempting consequences, he responds by violating the law more.

This isn't complicated.

What Hegseth/DOD is doing here is awful, but at some point part of the problem is Dems' lack of tangible response.
The Pentagon will cut the military retirement pay of Sen. Mark Kelly for what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the Arizona Democrat’s “seditious” statements on a video telling service members they have the right to refuse to execute illegal orders.
