When I’m in Quebec, I’m legally required to list my pronouns as ELLE/she
And also security guards in the Byward Market to supplement the many millions of dollars we just put into that fancy new police hub at Rideau Centre we’re not allowed to see. I assume their job is to glare at people and call the real police when there’s an actual problem?
There’s nothing more important than the safety of our residents. That’s why we are making historic investments in the people who keep us safe. Our Public Safety Action Plan includes more police officers, more paramedics, better-equipped firefighters.

Just finished setting up the advent calendar for this year. Big thanks to the wonderful folks at Finngoods (finngoods.ca) and NoelByAlmaHome (on Etsy) for my super cute and delicious setup.

I hope Heated Rivalry becomes a huge thing everyone watches so when they’re looking for more of Jacob Tierney’s work, I can sell them on The Trotsky.

2026 prediction: The Canadian government will release a Heritage Minute-style video made by AI that is factually incorrect and causes much embarrassment and mockery.

An #Autowa driver gave me the finger for waving him along when he stopped dangerously to let me cross Queen Elizabeth Driveway. Sorry I didn’t want to walk into the traffic that was coming in the opposite direction, I guess? I hope every single time he sits down, a tiny bit of poop comes out.

Disappointing that Serial became a “pro-child abuse” podcast.

My pharmacist put a hand to her heart and looked horrified when she saw my facial swelling, so I feel like things aren’t going -quite- as well as they could be.

If your transit fare is so expensive that you need multiple different carve-outs for disadvantaged groups, maybe reconsider the price of your basic fare.

Transit shouldn't be a service of last resort, it should be the primary mode for everyone, and it should be priced to achieve that goal.

I don’t know who decided that the Help Santa Toy Parade should go down Queen Elizabeth Driveway this year, but those people are on my shitlist.

Mika was thinking about recipes for soups (I’m having oral surgery on Friday, weeee) and so I gave him a cookbook I’d gotten him for an early present. I know he was genuinely excited by what he found inside because he said “This one’s for Daddy” for a salmon recipe and I’ll never let him forget it.

I’m so glad this exists, but it’s too bad this doesn’t go into the Glebe (yet?). We helped revive someone 2 years ago near Second Avenue and while the paramedics were great, the cop we dealt with was lacking in empathy.
The ANCHOR program is an alternative to police for mental health calls. It works, and I am very glad to be able to say it will be expanded into the eastern part of Kitchissippi. Read about its success here: pub-ottawa.escribemeetings.com/filestream.a...

First 6am gym session since the surgery and I had to endure 2 folks using the cardio machines in the very tiny space, but I just put my Flo Mask on and did my thing. 💪 Being deconditioned is humbling, but I hope the cardio folks were equally humbled seeing me kicking so much ass in my mask. 😘
