Blanking out my gamer tag but haha... Maybe I should go out and touch grass more 👀💦

(Also I think my current rampage I'm doing with KCD2 should be on here but guess they don't count past the 20th or whenever they made this live for folks)

This year's art summary is a bit of a mess 💀

I moved from LA to MN in March, so there was basically zero art for the whole month. In September, I accidentally forgot to draw anything and instead worked on one excel spreadsheet the ENTIRE MONTH. orz

Hey, artists remember this:

No matter how many pieces you made this year you're an artist, even if you only made 1.

If you are super active or if you only have time / energy to pop up once in a while, no matter how big or small, you are still part of the art community 🙌

I love u artists

I spoke to a dozen professional concept artists working in games about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs easier, even if it's just used in "very early ideation stages."

Zero said "yes." Most said it made their job harder.

I learnt a lot about concept artists. You should too!
We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

REPOST THIS WITH SOMETHING FROM YOUR SKETCHBOOK!🫶💖

This isn't about your art being bad or good. This is about humans making real-life art and putting in the effort to create something simply because they like creating things.

TAKE A PHOTO OF YOUR SKETCHBOOK, I WANNA SEE REAL ART.💛

A good PSA for art prints!

- Sign the front of your print at least 1/4 of an inch away from the edges. Don't sign on the literal edge, it'll get covered by a frame or mat
- Don't use labels! They're not acid free. Use a stamp with archival ink instead.
- Info sheets are better than business cards.
Fellow artists-please sign your work.
Not like a dr signature, that’s fine of course, but more importantly could you put your name or site on the back of your prints? Doing more framing to decorate n the amount of times I find something I love but have no clue who made it and would want more 🙃
