This was probably never about drug running; at any rate, it's morphed into economic terrorism & is now blatantly about attacking any small boat that ventures out to sea. Local fishermen have to go to sea & fish. when they're too terrorized to do so, an economic pipeline—their lifeline—is cut off.
Trump has executed six more civilians in a small boat. The death toll now stands at 76.

Democrats reveal whistleblower details of Ghislaine Maxwell prison ‘luxuries’
In a letter to the president, House Democrats say Maxwell’s treatment as she prepares a clemency request makes the convicted sex offender look like a “guest at a Trump hotel.”

I know that having principles is very difficult for most politicians, but this was the easiest hill to die on. Saving the ACA is incredibly popular. There is no excuse for this moral cowardice.

No more donations to any Dem elected official until Schumer is out as leader. They must be punished.
So many people are going to suffer and die due to not being able to afford health insurance in January. Our representatives are mostly rich and have excellent government funded health care so they will never understand choosing between food and medicine.

I no longer believe Democrats even care.
reprehensible to me that regular citizens putting their bodies on the line to protest ICE abductions are showing more courage every day than our elected officials.

Any democratic senator not calling for Schumer to step down is complicit. And we will replace them all with people willing to fight

it's not just that durbin would believe this; it's that he would boast to a reporter about being this much of a fucking rube.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Nary a word about blue cities and blue citizens under assault by the government they’re funding. To say nothing of the disregard for the rule of law. But at least we picked a fight on healthcare, started to win, and then publicly folded. I hate these people.

Having moderate squishes like Jeffries and Schumer in charge is worse than having actual centrists in charge. You can't position yourself versus or in agreement with leadership, cause who knows what they believe, or what they're planning.

will dems defund ICE or do anything about the rampant kidnappings and see some accountability for the law breaking? well, is anyone in leadership or with a major profile in the party talking about that? no? then the answer is “no”

"we don't have the votes to expand the court."

that's true. is anyone in leadership even talking about being in favor of expanding the court? to at least get the ball rolling?

"that's not important."

are they in fact vocally against it?

"not important."

In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

We’re all trying to figure out who controls the democratic Senate caucus, because that person should resign.
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

Personally will be spending my AM calling them all
This is so offensive I don’t even know where to start.

“Vote blue no matter who and also shut the fuck up when those people betray you.”

Nope.

We will primary every senator who doesn’t call for Schumer to step down in the next 24 hours.

You work for us.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Well that’s said by someone who hasn’t ever been a fr entrepreneur
“They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs” by buying health insurance is so fucking funny, man
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

The historian in me feels the need to note that contests between cities and their rural hinterland are not new things and they do not generally go great for the rural folks.
California alone produces a third of all the food America eats. So this is a lie.

But let’s break down the food produced by the red states:

Guess what percent is harvested by people from Latin America?

It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.

We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

Went to repost this and then depressingly saw it was from 8 months ago. This is still true, and I am now convinced it will remain true until there are successful primary challenges nationwide to the "roll over and play dead" Dems.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
