Guy at the bus station approached me to ask if I worked at the library and got nervous and apologetic when I said no. I said 'it's okay I love the library' and he told me he thought the guy's name was Greg. I apologized and told him that was not me.
I get approached by strangers every couple months who think I'm someone else. It's been going on for decades, all over the continent. Most commonly the encounter starts with the person making eye contact and saying a white guy's name inquisitively. I have been asked Kevin and Scott so many times.

As of today I can no longer access my bank, credit card, or health insurances through their respective apps. My phone is 'too old' to support them. My bank was the first to halt back in 2023 and I will continue to bleed convenience until it stops working at all (or I lose the power button. Again.)

I wish norms were swapped and it was appropriate to swear in work emails and if you really wanted to shut down a conversation in person you'd just have to say 'I wish you well in all your future endeavours'
