I wonder what proportion of households goes from turkey yesterday, to pizza today. That cook is TIRED, folks, and if leftovers don't excite you, then you can suit yourselves. And use the paper plates!
Well damn I'm ten minutes into the Burns documentary and I'm sobbing for all we've apathetically let slide into hopeless stupidity

Nominee for Post Of the Year
My great-uncle was born in the Russian Empire and wrote God Bless America
Rep. Kat Cammarck: "Today, one in six people in the US is foreign born. That quite frankly is not sustainable to maintain a culture that we are known for here in the United States."

Irving Berlin's great nephew gives a call back to the freakin' 19th century. America is bigger, longer and more essential than recent warty MAGA toads

"Getting on in years" is watching a Hallmark Christmas film with Cary Elwes and Brooke Shields and thinking how fine these 50ish folks with crows feet still look

Collecting recyclables from our weekend hosting our kids and grandkids, I realize we've not raised a family as much as an industrial-scale beer-drinking machine

What's the extension to get this site to block every post involving Stephen Miller from my feed? I don't like the constant reminder that our country now has pubic lice

It's been a helluva year, so it's going to be damn hard to come up with "things I'm thankful for this year." So don't push your luck with that. At least with Trump taking a few hits these days, I'm no longer avoiding listening to the news entirely. It's only 90% bad these days.

There should be a fund drive to buy Trump's boyhood home in Queens to serve as a perpetual symbolic site at which to register one's opinion about his legacy.

You remember Len's engaging content which started during the great lockdowns (Scots Word of the Day) but this is next level from an author, scholar, and prize-winning poet (Poyums). Looking forward to a listen, to brighten the dark days. They specialize in that in Scotland: lots of dark days there
In a shocking turn of events, Paul Leonard-Morgan and I wrote an album together. Here's a wee teaser, we'll be launching it at St Luke's in January. Another dream coming true. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙
