Hot Takes on Singing🧵

Good singing is always, ALWAYS, connected to the sensation of speaking. Is it the same? No. But it grows from the same place. When you sing well, you’re taking the core function of communicating with your voice, and growing it to fit a specific genre or style of music.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Our campaign raised nearly $845,000 this filing period.

We did it from 10,988 individual donors across almost every NYC zip code. And with $500,000+ matching eligible, we expect another $4+ million next month.

We have the movement, the momentum and the money to win.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Cool so what happens if GOP attach a national abortion ban to a CR? You'll vote for that too?

My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.

Angus King (ME)
Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Jacky Rosen (NV)
Brian Schatz (HI)
Maggie Hassan (NH)
Jeanne Shaheen (NH)
Gary Peters (MI)

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.
This is NEW today. AOC sent this 11 am. Friday morning.

Yes, your calls are still needed. The vote is in the early afternoon. There is still time!

There are so many betrayals in Chuck Schumer's vote for the CR, but perhaps none worse than going against the request of the federal workers who've been most harmed by the on-going coup.

The largest federal workers union asked @schumer.senate.gov to vote against the CR and he just ignored them.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.
