You know sometimes filler words make the sentence read better!! They just do!
Right after "Don't use semicolons," "Don't use adverbs," "Don't use speech tags beyond 'said' and 'says,'" and "Always delete the word 'that,'" my favorite piece of writing advice is "Don't listen to people giving writing advice who are incessantly telling you not to do things."

If it’s not an important enough detail for you to write, why on earth do you think a reader needs to read it?

Write by numbers bullshit.
She says she doesn't care what the lobby looks like but if she actually didn't care she would simply not include what the lobby looks like, being a fake hater is a skill issue
Yes, I think a lot about this self-pub writer who said they use AI to write things like "setting" and "description" which they don't find interesting instead of... figuring out how to write something interesting?

That small act of compassion made a big impression on Gaza’s tiny Christian community.”
Pope's frequent calls to a Catholic church made him a revered figure in war-battered Gaza

This is amazing!!! People need to see what's actually getting cut and threatened instead of just numbers

Stayed up past my bedtime to finish The Lost Book of Bonn by @brilabuskes.bsky.social. It's so good, and a good book to read now for people to understand protests and/or work through feelings of resentment and anger at everyday people who are on the side of the Nazis. Highly recommend it!

People are just so ignorant of what the government does. Can’t count how many times I’ve heard “politics is such a small part of life.” That’s only because you don’t notice all the good that comes from having the right people/policies in place
