The pandemic emergency response and multiple UBI studies have shown that just giving poor people money dramatically improves their lives and is much simpler to administer, but that makes it harder to humiliate them, so here we are.
Indiana is 1 of 6 red states that banned purchases of sugary drinks & candy with SNAP funding. Will this make SNAP so complex that smaller stores won't take it? Does restricting SNAP make sense without healthier options? @emmarjanssen.bsky.social traveled to Gary & E.Chicago for this great feature.

Would ban scented laundry products and especially fabric softener if I could. I have to run inside every time my neighbours wash their clothes and take an antihistamine right away and still probably feel like shit for a day 😫😫

Weekly cardiac visits for biopsy to check for rejection resulted in a dose of SARS-Cov-2. Anti rejection drugs and anti viral meds are not recommended. Why is health care so dangerous?

So much wellness advice I see is like - teach your nervous system it is safe, so that it can help the body heal. And yes! I think there's something to that! But I would respect the people saying this so much more if they were also trying to change the systems that make the world unsafe for so many

Things are looking up for Seffi. The fluids have really perked her up, but we still need her to eat some food soon 🤞🤞
My kitty is at the vet getting IV fluids for severe dehydration after vomiting repeatedly this morning (cause unclear). Would appreciate good vibes to be sent her way 🙏

I finished this last night and loved reading about the history from before I was born, the nostalgic memories, and the current stars. If you love Dan Shulman, his chapter alone is worth the price of the book. HE WAS AN ACTUARY 🤯 Happy for his early mid life crisis that lead him to broadcasting

my hottest educational take is that schools should actively, non-punitively teach students how to admit when they don't know something, aren't sure or have made a mistake, with various teaching frameworks adapted to support this ideal, because people who can't admit fault are breaking the world
