The whole "screen time" thing mostly comes from Boomers and older Gen X adults whose earliest and fondest memories absolutely involve sitting on the living room carpet watching shitty TV.
Just saw an ad that started out "your kids won't remember their best day of screen time" and while I of course broadly agree with the sentiment that you should do activities with your children, don't tell me i don't remember beating zelda a link to the past

Is very funny to me that the origin of Pancake Day is that you weren't meant to eat rich-tasting food during Lent so you'd use up all your eggs only nowadays people specifically buy in milk and eggs to make pancakes especially for the day lol
