1. Talarico ties his campaign to faith, so this is a thing if he’s hoping to win over some conservative TX Christians

2. The campaign also uses this account and appears to follow folks w/big followings, which changes the story a lot

3. Fascinating theological reply from the campaign here

i don’t think the main problem with the american church is “too many of them refuse to be scammed by a lady who is obviously lying.”
There is a lady on TikTok pretending to have a baby that has gone without formula all night — she is calling churches around the country to ask if they can help.

Some of them are really embarrassing themselves. Especially the mega-churches.

All this, plus moka pots make great coffee and are easy to clean up. Just be careful as they get hot & the handle is small!
A moka pot is $15. Get fine ground coffee, gently pack the grounds into the filter, fill the bottom with water, screw on tight, and put on the stove.

While that's going, heat milk in the microwave then use a $10 frother on it.

Syrups are $5 for a giant bottle.

DO NOT CROSS THE PICKET LINE.

Some days I just don't like living in NC. But then I go work in the gardens at church where I encounter meaningful conversations & amazing beauty... and I'm grateful. #autumn #FallFoliage

I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

How did I miss author Kate Elliott for so many years? Then I read Unconquerable Sun ("genderbent Alexander the Great as space opera") & was hooked! I'm still working thru her blacklist, but HIGHLY recommend The Witch Roads & forthcoming sequel, The Nameless Land- EXCELLENT fantasy duology 📚 👏🏼 👏🏼

"Loving an old dog is so different to loving a young one." 💔 (It is with this understanding I plan to care for/adopt only elderly rescues from now on. It is, as the author says, such a privilege to care for an elderly pet, with or without years of memories together.) Cc @itbodes.bsky.social
Terri is right - Melissa Harrison has written a beautiful, incredibly touching, sad and fierce paean to her very old dog.
This piece by Melissa Harrison is simply gorgeous. My beloved dog Tilly also had pancreatitis in her last year, and taking care of her was privilege, not a chore. She'd spent her whole life taking care of me, after all. I still miss her with every breath. mzharrison.substack.com/p/loving-an-...
