Hello #ewgc peeps! I can't find our hashtag at all today and I'm not sure what to do for compilation. Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow and see if the hashtag is fixed to go the GalleyChat compilation.

I nominate Josh O'Connor to star in adaptations of "Death Comes for the Archbishop" and "Doomsday Book" next since he's got this genuinely good priest thing down cold. #KnivesOut #WakeUpDeadMan

Last but definitely not least, number 10 is THE ENCHANTED GREENHOUSE by Sarah Beth Durst. This is the book of 2025 that I want to go and live in. I think a piece of me is still there. May just put it on my medicinal shelf with Wodehouse and Miss Read for whenever I need soothing. #LibFaves25

It was a rough year, and comfort reads such as Kim Jyun's YEONNAM-DONG'S SMILEY LAUNDROMAT kept me reading (and hoping) so it is my number 9 pick. #LibFaves25

My 8th pick for #LibFaves25 is A DROP OF CORRUPTION by Robert Jackson Bennett. The most flawless mystery I've read in quite some time, or at least since the one before it in the Shadow of the Leviathan series, THE TAINTED CUP. Love Ana and Din.

Pick 7: I adored THE RIVER HAS ROOTS by Amal El-Mohtar as much as anything I read in 2025. Sisters, music, magic, an unbreakable bond. Just excellent. #LibFaves25

Day 6 pick is VIOLET THISTLEWAITE IS NOT A VILLAIN ANY MORE. Talk about fun, and this sweet yet exciting book has one of the best endings I've read all year. #LibFaves25

Oh my word, fellow librarians, I'm totally buying a copy of The Correspondent (not my pick) if they have it this evening at my local independent bookstore! What a hot #LibFaves25 contender!

GREENTEETH by Molly O'Neill was so great. Take me back to Chipping Appleby! #LibFaves25 That's five; I'm caught up!

Also in my (unranked) top 10 is THE KEEPER OF MAGICAL THINGS by Julie Leong. I love this cozy fantasy series. #LibFaves25

I must jump in on day 4 of #LibFaves25 and start posting. I like doing a countdown but “no particular order” is sufficient! My first three have no cover images since I’m tardy. AMITY by Nathan Harris, AUTOMATIC NOODLE by Annalee Newitz, and PAPER GIRL by Beth Macy!

I am trying to figure out how to create PDFs of catalogs for EarlyWord that have linked titles to the full Edelweiss record. If any of you #LibFaves25 or #ewgc peeps have any idea how this is done, shoot me a DM. I want to put everything on the site and ditch the spreadsheets.

I'll be creating a special blog at earlyword.com for the #LibFaves25 top picks when we tally them up. I have a habit of spending a good bit of January reading the top picks of librarians and I'm always blown away! #booksky

What to read next? THE ASTRAL LIBRARY by Kate Quinn is calling, as is the next Sarah Beth Durst, SEA OF CHARMS, but after one page of Leah Weiss's THE CREEK, THE CRONE, AND THE CROW I am all about it. Maybe Appalachia in the '80s is my happy place? Of course it is. #ewgc

Thank you for your positivity, @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social! I needed it! THE BEGINNING COMES AFTER THE END was refreshing what with all the sociopolitical gloom and doom. #ewgc @haymarketbooks.org

THIS KINGDOM WILL NOT KILL ME by Ilona Andrews is the fantasy book to beat next year. It's a standout. Love the premise, love the characters, hungry for more after 480 pages. #ewgc @macmillanlibrary.bsky.social
