I really wish that more of the response to the whole Greenland situation was "Greenland is already colonized and cannot gain anything from its colonial rule being switched from one malevolent racist nation to another."

Kalaallit, Inughuit and Tunumiit should be free, autonomous people.

At first I assumed that he had this PhD and then applied the knowledge, but it sounds like he specifically GOT that PhD in order to do the sabotage, which just blows me away

Hey, you. Stop doomscrolling.

Go take your meds. Eat something. Drink water. Go for a walk. Hug an animal. Call someone you adore.

Breathe.

We are inundated with fuckery. You still need to take care of yourself.

If meditation is not your jam, consider going for a walk, doing some slow gentle movement (yoga or tai chi), or even just looking out the window for 5 minutes.
hello. if you’ve been super plugged in and activated lately, if you woke up this morning and went from 0-100, i want to be the real hippie friend and invite you to be in your body for a few minutes with me

i just did this meditation, maybe you can too. take some breathes. drink some tea.

This chucklefuck would fail out of Starfleet Academy one semester in - either for trying to use the holodeck to do his homework or because he pouted about treating other Federation members as equals
"We want to make Star Trek real," said Elon Musk.

"We want to make Starfleet Academy real so that it's not always science fiction, but one day the science fiction turns to science fact."

Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.

Made a new poster of Robert Johnson with a bunch of period correct details. I looked at the original Vocalion record sleeves/disc labels to pull decorative framing elements. The font (redrawn) is from the 30's. The clothes, guitar and portrait are all based on 30's photos. Star marks his birthplace.

Did you get something really *nice* for Christmas? Are you saving it?

STOP

Eat it. Slather yourself in it. Spray it on a random wfh Tuesday. Use it next time you have a meal. Make up an occasion and use it.

Whatever it is don't hoard it until it's near its use by date or too precious.

God bless every online yoga platform that is sharing deep relaxation practices right now. They get it.

Eyvind Earle (whose style you may recognize from Disney's Sleeping Beauty) made art for over 800 Christmas cards, they are all great. Here's a partridge, courtesy of the Met's gift shop:

I am off until Jan 5 and so I am making myself daily to-do lists but the kind where a) things like "watch a Christmas movie" are items and b) I know that I don't have to do every single item on the list. Also breaking things down into components so I can get partial credit

Being de-influenced simply by standing in line at a Ross.

I am commenting on how bad this particular Christmas movie is and T said "they can't all be good, they make too many" and then we got into a speculation about what drives the actors to make them - rent, car payment, SAG insurance...

So Heated Rivalry is indeed hot but it's also very sad (at least 3 episodes in) because even though they play for fictional teams in a fictional league, everyone is in the closet. Please tell me about some sports romances where the players are NOT closeted?

What's interesting to me here is how many responses seem to be from people who have never ordered tea at a coffee shop and gotten something made with the wrong temperature water and low-quality bagged tea. (Ppl will say "they have things other than coffee" but they're rarely any good)
Cafes across the U.S. are embracing the low- and no-caffeine lifestyle, with options that are a far cry from dusty tea bags and rewarmed decaf. nyti.ms/3XKlqoj

I genuinely do not understand this "AI can help you write emails" thing. I do not find emails hard to write?! Am I the odd one out here or is it the children who are wrong?

LABYRINTH is playing on the TV in my hotel so I am watching it while I prep materials for my meeting and this move holds up. The only thing that doesn't is the CGI owl. The beauty of practical effects!
