So there’s nothing special about rising to the occasion when threats arise. It’s in all of us, and we can depend on each other more than you think. I haven’t seen combat, but being a veteran, I have been in dangerous situations, and everyone around me kept cool in peril. And maybe people think it takes special kind of people to do this but I will remind you that servicemembers are usually low income, regular people like everyone.
