To go along with our piece today, we published an extensive list of folks associated with DOGE. It builds off and adds to the strong work that Wired, WaPo, ProPublica and other pubs have been doing.

The public has a right to know who is dismantling the government.

Who Is in DOGE? Tracking Its Staffers and Allies in the Federal Government
The Times identified 49 people within the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, a group formed by Elon Musk that in a short few weeks has radically upended federal agencies.

Day 5 was my favourite, as I think each day got progressively better. If you somehow didn't try Better Offline CES, it's one of the best things I've put out, a 20-person live to tape audio production from the heart of a tech show that oftentimes doesn't sell real things.

Bluesky is winning because both twitter and threads have gone out of their way to make their platforms inhospitable to reputable journalists and news. @kattenbarge.bsky.social reports:

Journalists flock to Bluesky as X becomes increasingly 'toxic'
Journalists are finding more readers and less hate on Bluesky than on the platform they used to know as Twitter.

Trump teams to deploy throughout government after reaching agreement with the Biden administration
The president-elect had previously refused to sign the agreement and is still sidestepping many of the steps typically required for presidential transitions.

Feel free to spam elected officials with this. It feels silly, but it’s not. No impeachment since the 14th Amendment was ratified has reached a majority vote in the Senate, and never has an official been charged with insurrection. This government still belongs to the people. Laws are what we say.
I’m saying it now with hopes that it sinks in: Donald Trump cannot take any oath of office until he is granted amnesty for breaking the last one he swore. That’s just straight up in the Constitution. 2/3 of each House. That’s the bar.

I've been running uBlock origin lite just to see if I can notice any difference, and to be honest, not really except

* you can't list what's been blocked, which is annoying
* no easy disable blocking on this site

Both of which are UI decisions, not manifest v3 limitations.

Nobody will care given...*gestures broadly,* but we also got a verdict today. In 2021 we and others were sued for putting legal records online. With pro bono support from GT Law, we fought to keep the records up. We won. They appealed. Today we won again! The records stay up!

Might as well post that picture of my son when he was a baby. The one where he look like he was born playing darts. In 1957. Looking like he just got some bad news about a tractor trailer his nephew was minding for him. With a face like my dad's when I tell him about my podcast.

I can’t believe how few conversations about the uses of LLMs seem to incorporate this fact. It is not a knowledge or understanding machine! It is a thing-saying machine!
Do not use LLMs for information. Of any kind. It does not *know* anything.
