Training Day. He has other better movies (the plot was whatever and it is uninspired to use the Russian Mob as a boogeyman) and arguably other better acting performances (Malcolm X and John Q) but his Training Day was very enjoyable and the one I have rewatched the most

Agreed. But also? A lot of the ppl who call Kanye genius would never call Mariah Carey a genius. And they likely don’t know who Twinkie Clark is. Some only know about Nina Simone because Kanye sampled her. The concept of intelligence, and therefore genius, is gendered and racialized.
