Needless for a variety of reasons, not least of which is that Flanagan already made a Mrs. Carmody-style god-botherer the central villain of his Vampire Island show
Mike Flanagan will write and direct a new film adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Mist’ for Warner Bros

It follows a group of people locked in a grocery store after a mysterious fog emerges that hides deadly creatures

Just as I suspected: the Netflix Cliff Booth movie is a summoning ritual for Marchosias, the puissant marquis of Hell, to whom 30 legions of demons are pledged

Everyone seemed to have that “hating AI is classist and ableist” thread well in hand earlier this week, but I just wanted to add: you will never be the GOAT

I didn’t expect American journalists to suddenly grow a spine about the Epstein files, but even I’m a little shocked at how consistently the “The international billionaire pedophile cabal isn’t a big deal, it’s pretty boring actually” line is being deployed

Cannot stress enough that the word quadrilogy was invented to market a box set of Alien DVDs in 2003

An underrated skill of Mignola's: quickly developing immensely tragic side characters. The Troll Witch, Von Klempt's granddaughter ("Rubezahl..."), the new Bog Roosh, and most of all the little girl from the Wolves of St. August—a tale of utter despair sketched in only six panels.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

Hearing concerning reports that all that is solid is melting into air, all that is holy is being profaned, and we are at last compelled to face with sober senses the real conditions of our lives

It might be the only duel in the series where both guys involved seem to seriously believe that their swords can cut through anything, and that one tiny mistake will be all it takes
Not to sound like a nerd but it bugs me whenever I see people say that the Obi-Wan and Darth Vader duel in the original Star Wars is too lame and slow and should be more intense or flashy like the prequels. It’s not supposed to be a long epic scene! It’s tense! They’re testing each other!

Five-year-old me: Oooh, that Batman cartoon! What adventures will he go on today?

*the villain is left in tears, unable to process their fears and obsessions. And Batman, a looming presence born of the inability to rationalize terror, is the only one there to comfort them*

Me: Oh. Huh.

Let's just say this clearly and as loudly as possible: Bari Weiss is now protecting people in the Epstein files. The head of CBS News is protecting people in the Epstein files. There's no "woke mob" about it. If she won't back down on this, what else is she doing with CBS's Epstein reporting?
Simply incredible
