Siddhant Awasthi and Emmanuel Lamacchia, the Tesla executives in charge of its Cybertruck and Model Y programs, are leaving the company.

They're the latest in a string of high-profile executive exits.
The Tesla Cybertruck And Model Y Bosses Both Just Quit
Tesla has lost several top executives across divisions in recent months. They seem to be leaving on good terms, but the rate of executive turnover seems high.

Brakes didn’t work, love the car doe

I figured they were hoping it would pass so they could generally point to in advance of some future xAI investment. If they don’t want it in the ballot they could have just excluded (ordinary biz). Weird one.

They seemed really unhappy about this result. Now I see why.

I held this post up to the light.

Grandpa could just ask the FTC. Lina Khan was all over this issue: www.ftc.gov/system/files...

Paul Krugman he ain’t

Denholm said that battery storage/energy was the most exciting part of the biz at the start of the meeting… if you get what you measure, Tesla won’t be getting more batteries!

Battery storage is not even an operational target for his comp!

Nope! It’s a TOTAL of 20 million delivered, including the already installed base. Total layup.

The 20 million target in 10 years is a total layup, btw. Already, 8 million delivered (they count). That means, Tesla has to deliver 12 mill in 10 years. Last year it delivered what? 1.78 mill? Tesla could do materially worse and he would still hit that 20 mill in 10 years

Why DE ditched its reputation for this guy - a guy that already left them - will forever be a mystery to me.

The present govt is dumb enough to guarantee OpenAI and corrupt enough to demand equity for the privilege of the govt guarantee

OpenAI is planting the seeds for a pre-bailout, trying to dupe the government into guaranteeing its future. @ryanlcooper.com explains why this makes no sense given the fantastically absurd business model of the company:

“Covered Events” is going to be doing a lot of work over the next decade

This was a weird vote. It has no legal effect whatsoever. I think the board was hoping for a warm, cozy blanket of approval that they could wrap around themselves to justify throwing a ton of money at xAI. But, the vote was more like a thin, cold sheet. Whatever. They’ll still throw money at xAI.
