I think Frank’s biggest sin is that he constantly tried to gaslight fans.
He never got the club, sure, but not everyone is going to have that connection with the supporters.
But people aren’t stupid. It was bad to start and got worse. Instead he tried to drag everything and everyone down with him.

There’s quite a bit of arguing in the Spurs online community about whether Frank, Lange, or the board is mostly to blame for the state of the team. But you don’t get this bad on Tottenham’s budget unless it’s all of the above.
not that Thomas Frank has done himself a single favor since taking the Tottenham job, but it really is remarkable to see the impact several years of poor squad building can have on a good team - there's not a lot this team does well and there are very few redeeming qualities
