That's the $1m question. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

I hope they come in lower than a current Mac Mini too - but pricing nowadays being the way it is…

Apparently it’s 6 inches squared, so pretty compact.

Go into desktop mode. Open Konsole and check out if the apps you want to use (Kodi, etc) are available via pacman - or get yay and check out the software on the AUR.

We’re guessing. I made a PC guess just now, but as this is ARM it’s more comparable to the current Mac Mini and they’re pushing out from around £599.

There are PCs with better specs in the £799 region at the moment. Am expecting around there.

It’s Arch Linux underneath like the Steam Deck (just ARM instead of x86) - so the utilities are available, and relatively simple to setup.

There's no way to add a dGPU, so you're 'stuck' with an RTX4060-esque experience in gaming terms.

Plenty out there that don't need the latest and greatest - will be great for retro/arcade gaming as well.

Then there is IPTV and movie collection playback. Lots of positives here.

I'll also not jump in immediately - did that with the Steam Deck as well - waited a while before purchasing.

They look as small as, if not a little smaller than, the Apple headset. And that's a good thing - my Q3 is front heavy - even with a balancing battery on the back.

This will be better.

Yeah, I’ve already tagged the Frame in another post.

I'm only allowing myself to upgrade even numbered devices - and it needs to be a massive improvement over the current device.

I force these rules upon myself to allow me to step away from the yearly upgrade roundabout.

This - basically - is now the root of Apple. They're headed the way they did before Jobs came back if they don't turn it round soon.

And the price of the things! A fool and his money...

Wife struggles the same way with VR/3D films. Although I understand there are ways to alleviate the gaming/VR issues, I'm not convinced they'll cure it.

Am interested to see how they implement the 2D side of things when it has pancake lenses...

Oooo - spoilers. 😀

How does it compare with the other two movies in the series?
November 12, 2025 at 3:35 PM
If they’re anything like the M27 roadworks, they were going on since before we moved here 4 years ago, and have been pretty much on and off ever since.

So, like the painting the Humber bridge - never.

Hmmm - interesting, but not sure how complete that would be, sitting on the Windows OS and relying on system calls to be mapped appropriately.

VMware Workstation is now free for Windows (and Linux), runs a VM much like WSL does - and can use select folders for sharing files between each.

Systemd is a thing now, and the commands and controls around that won't be found in WSL sadly.

Machine speeds are such nowadays that running a Linux VM in Windows would produce a better 'learning' environment for you in the long run?
