BREAKING: I obtained a 1945 letter written to director George Stevens and producer John Ford expressing concerns about Nazi Concentration Camps, the documentary film they plan to release.
![5. We need to do a better job of explaining the legal rationale by which the administration detained and deported these Jews to Dachau. It’s not as simple as Hitler invoking the Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor and being able to deport them immediately. And that isn’t the administration’s argument. The admin has argued in court that Jews are creating “racial defilement”—and we should explain this, with a voice arguing that Hitler is exceeding his authority under the relevant statute, and another arguing that he’s operating within the bounds of his authority. There’s a genuine debate here. If we cut down Adolf Eichmann analysis we’d have the time.
My general view here is that we do our viewers the best service by presenting them with the full context they need to assess the story. In other words, I believe we need to do more reporting here.

Nothing has convinced me that Trump is seriously ill more than his frenzy to have theaters, websites and battleships named after him. (Well, also his ankles and IV bruise.) I'd love to see 60 Minutes report on it, although Bari Weiss would doubtless say, "We need to give equal time to immortality."
