Psychopomp is one of the best publishing teams on the planet and I love being a part of it.

They consistently put out amazing work. But most of all, they are such good people.

Please support The Deadlands if you're able. We can't lose another. ❤️❤️

Definitely a mix. Sometimes the exact setting is vague, sometimes it’s a real city, sometimes it’s a fictional place that’s loosely based on a real one.

#HorrorWritersChat question 2:

Do you tend to prefer real places, fictional, or a mix of both?

It’s cool that humans have been eating bread so long that when we touch a loaf for a moment we can sense ah this is going to be awful bread. Like badgers sensing vibrations underground through their claws.

So, we’re a quarter of the way through this century. How’s everyone enjoying it so far? I think it’s been very hit or miss, personally

Generative AI is here to make you less informed, less artistic, and less able to connect with other humans. Wanna be a rebel? Heartily say fuck that.

In 2025 I'm going to try to get through all the books I own but haven't read. There's no way I'll get them all, but it's nice to have goals.

If you’re the kind of person who easily forgets what you’ve accomplished, you need a practice for reminding yourself. Count the years, the finished projects, the progress, the praise, count it all up and use it as evidence against the ever present criticism in your head that you’re not doing enough.

I'm not a fan of notes that go, "I'd like to see more of [character]".

Like, of course you do. That means I've done my job, which is to give you enough for the purposes of the narrative and to leave you thinking about them. That's the job.

Wanting more is normal. This is prose, not serialised TV.
