Looking back, one of my favorite things about Veilguard is the way it shows the party members having lives independent of Rook. They have their own relationships and business that you can influence but aren't in direct control of

The problem is that we are being told in advance to accept whatever the Dems give us, no matter how little they actually represent our interests. That isn't a recipe for defeating fascism, that's a delaying action at best
I’m not saying you shouldn’t criticize Dems - of course not - but acting like “a mediocre Dem versus an actual fascist” is a tough choice is extremely unhelpful for people trying to build a broad united front against fascism.

My advice, designers, is always think about your character IN MOTION as you design them. That means doing everything they need to do in the game/show/film. Put on a helmet, squat, twist their wrists, draw a sword or munch down on some rug.
Tig Notaro's character is so brave because those face spikes are designed by someone who doesn't go down on women. Your immer thighs would be SHREDDED.

in 2016, prior to the election, an analysis I read said "the democratic party works like a business, and there's a great deal of loyalty to people who are part of the machine. Think of it like an organization that promotes from within, rather than a political organization with a shared platform"
I mean my objection to people like Newsom remains fundamentally a moral and ideological one, but even to the cynic who thinks of politics as a game it's not even tactically advantageous. You're alienating people who might be part of your voting coalition to do... what, exactly?

I've read a few fantasy books where queer relationships are not considered taboo at all, and it made me realize that these writers designed worlds without queer culture. They took out homophobia by making every relationship normative
