Here is my intro thread 🧵 since I ended up on a couple of starter packs. So, Hi! My name is Daniel. I typically post about two things:

Toxic Christian Theology
Fermenting things, typically beer and wine

4 weeks ago:

My wife: I didn't go clubbing
Me: Not even the that one club in San Luis? What was it called? Ugh. This is going to bug me.

Tonight while talking about nothing related:

Me: THE GRADUATE! THAT'S THE NAME OF THE CLUB
Wife: ?

I hate my brain, but that 4 week old itch is gone.

If volcano dangerous, why cute bunny?
Timeline cleanse: Yesterday I was introduced to the teporingo (volcano rabbit) — it’s like a rabbit crossed with a pika and is only found on Popocatépetl and three of the other volcanoes near Mexico City: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcano...

I totally misread Tal's post, looked at the screenshot on the right, and thought this was a weird live action remake of The Polar Express with Tom Hanks' conductor replaced by a creepy bearded dude.

Sometimes I think I should start a channel where I teach dudes how to do day to day things like cook, fish, laundry, etc. while constantly bad mouthing Peterson, Rogan, and other douches and yell at my audience that they are losers if they don't treat people that are different from them as equals.

We didn't know it at the time, but this was his answer to a question on the job application for VP of the United States.
Well, he's certainly stayed consistent on that point!

Fun fact: It was not found with the child or his belongings, but with his ex-girlfriend.
Child’s tunic with hood, Egypt, ca. 600-900 AD. Turns out hoodies have been around for a while!

TV crime dramas: These criminals use sophisticated techniques and encryption on the dark web to communicate and hide their crimes.

Off the top of my head, the Hillerman novels. I saw a side of poverty most people rarely see, but a beauty and resilience that most people will never experience about an American culture I will never be a part of. No other books have made me appreciate my home state of New Mexico more.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

I really hate that this guy got to where he is by spending a teeny tiny fraction of his money throwing crumbs to poor people on Twitter so he could talk about "Twitter philanthropy" on Fox News so and get enough name recognition so Trump would notice him.

How can I ask Joyce Carol Oates to tweet that tightrope walking across two skyscrapers during a windstorm is the most mundane thing that everyone except Elon Musk has done and it explains why he's a joyless nincompoop?
November 11, 2025 at 6:57 AM
Remember when Pulte launched himself into a fame by buying pizzas and burgers for poor people on Twitter and people allowed and retweeted him to give him the klout he needed to get on Fox news? It cost him almost nothing and now he's got the ear of president and he's also his attack dog.
S-tier Trump manipulation, honestly

Donald Trump’s approval rating has tanked and Republican suffered heavy losses in last week’s elections. There’s never been a better time for Senate Democrats to cave on the ACA extension.
