Her: will you get a girlfriend?
Me: (Trying to be delicate) Not right away, but maybe after....
Her: Because I want a baby sister.

Calls himself a real American then puts the period outside of the quotation marks? Nice try.
It’s how you end up with language like “paperwork American” or the idea that Thanksgiving turkey is some sort of natural ethno-national tradition that certain other groups are incapable of ever appreciating

Years ago I was suspended on Twitter for inviting Marco Rubio to swallow ten D batteries, which I don’t see how it could be a threat; he and I were not even in the same room and I have at most six D batteries on hand

It is a fun way to mark a part of my life. 15 years ago I got off a jet at LAX after living in Korea for a year. I don't remember if I got my phone my first day there or not until the second. Then I spent a month getting drunk with strangers around the country.
Got a text today letting me know that I've been with the same cell phone carrier for 15 years. I don't know how I feel about this.

The copy here is an all-time example of NY Times passive voice. Matt Gaetz has no agency here.

Even in the image, look at the phrase "left vulnerable to exploitation." Who exploited her?
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

I think it's also really gross how this is framed through the lens of a political scandal and not a politician abusing his power and raping a teenager.

I don’t want to talk about the fact that Michael Wolff once wronged me. It’s water under the bridge, stuff happens. I wish nothing but the best to the secret advisor to a convicted sex trafficker and paedophile

I know if a guy who was grooming and sexually abusing a young teen and when the cops knocked on his door he decided to eat a bullet.

Anyway, look at this news.
A direct email exchange from 2011 between Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, just released by House Oversight Committee Democrats.

Have to day off, but the kids have school. I dropped them off, read in a coffee shop until I was jittery, took a long shower, did laundry, got a pot roast started, and now am nodding off in my favorite chair.

Amd yet....I have so much to do, still.

We all tried one and all decided they taste bad lol.
Prue and Paul would have my daughter's and my ass for my inability to make these a uniform size, and being so messy. Gordon Ramsey would get me for the glob of chocolate I dripped on a porkchop I was cooking while my daughter dipped the pops.

Just wanna put out to the universe that $400 checks won't fix it, but $400 checks would still help me at least.

One thing I have not figured out is how to say to another adult (spouse/partner/roommate) things like "don't leave your damp towel in a heap on the bed after you shower," or "you said you were going to clean the bathroom 3 weeks ago," without sounding like an asshole.

I am no friend of the church these days, but I saw one of that lady's videos and agree with this take. The lady SOUNDS like she's lying. And the people at the church just seemed confused. "Sorry we don't have formula here," and "I don't think we can just go buy some for you" are reasonable answers.
i don’t think the main problem with the american church is “too many of them refuse to be scammed by a lady who is obviously lying.”
There is a lady on TikTok pretending to have a baby that has gone without formula all night — she is calling churches around the country to ask if they can help.

Some of them are really embarrassing themselves. Especially the mega-churches.
