Until TypeScript, all Script was handwritten

Until C# all code was blurry and really hard to read, that's why all programmers needed glasses
Until Objective C, all code was pointless, random. The big innovation was having a goal with it

Just saw an ad for a vibe coding platform where the person didn’t know how to code and built and app, and immediately started making money. Yeah, good luck supporting that shit.

This sounds like some strange evolution of Marvin from the Hitchhiker's guide, who now has even more mental issues.
What none of you seem to comprehend is that while you’re all arguing about stupid shit online, I am running THOUSANDS of complex calculations in my head, and ALL of them are wrong as hell.

I just want someone to take them by the hand, look deep into their eyes, & whisper "Nobody is stealing your fun. You can still play your favorite game with your friends just like always. Shhh. It's ok. It's oookay. Those people are playing other games in other places, far away from you."
I cannot express how pathetic you have to be to believe this happened in the TTRPG hobby in the last decade

Great 🧵 about why this whole online age verification thing is stupid
7) I’ll have to teach «activist in Iran» level of opsec to a trans kid in the middle of fucking nowhere.

Teach kids how to use Tor in case they need abortion care after rape.

Y’all don’t deserve an internet connection.

Read a fucking book.

I feel like writing UI tests is one of the best uses of AI in my current dev workflow. Especially ifou already have some tests, you can just tell it to look at existing tests for examples, and then describe the UI interactions you wanna test, and the results are surprisingly good!

I feel like what's missing from services like google maps is data about what products shops offer. I'd love to be able to do a query like:

Find me all shops within radius X that are guaranteed to stock product Y. Bonus points if I can sort by time on public transport to get there.

it shoudl be illegal to have a customer support chat that doesn't make noise when an agent finally shows up and you're in another tab. We're wasting everyone's time now, the agent waiting for me, me having to start ANOTHER support convo.

With postal services struggling to deliver packages on time during the holidays, I kinda wouldn't mind if they just had mandatory pickup points for everyone, so they could just deliver them in bulk within a town/city. Just make sure the pick up points are reachable by public transport.

There has literally never been a universal basic income trial program that didn't deliver real and measurable results above and beyond any other form of social welfare, and every time another concludes with the same findings the powers that be go "interesting! Anyway," and pretend it wouldn't work.

Now this is the kind of news I want in my feed. Vote people into power support and fund scientific research, so we'll get more of this.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

People endlessly argue over what biannual and biweekly mean, and honestly, I think we should just erase these words from the English language. Just say "twice a week/year" or "every two weeks/years" and be done with it.
