Hey this is also a banger piece of advice for rpg players and gms of rpgs in general
The biggest shift in the show, the biggest advice I'd give (in terms of running games and structuring episodes) to Episode 1 Jeff Stormer, is "If you're excited about a moment, build the episode around that moment, don't spend the episode building the runway TO that moment," if that makes sense.
If you could go back to episode 1 Jeff Stormer, are there tips you’d share about how to know what those moments should be? (Especially for games you haven’t played before)

One thing that keeps me safe from/while engaging with RPG discourse is the fact that I actually play RPGs. Regularly, passionately, with people from all walks of life. I love my hobby, I engage with it deeply, I am comfortable and secure in it, and no one can take that away from me!

I think if you are approaching games as a storytelling medium first, you need to extend that line of thinking to all games. Why MUST this story be interactive? Could you get what you needed out of it just by watching it? Then maybe you don’t want to make a game.
