Great reporting from @washingtonmonthly.com Contributing Editor @timothynoah.bsky.social.
This weekend is a good time to catch up on my stories about Trump’s imminent sale and likely destruction of a 1940 government building that one expert calls “the Sistine Chapel of New Deal art.”

I'm looking for someone based in Boston to spend a day copying some manuscripts for me at the Boston Athenaeum. I can pay well. Bonus points if you've researched at the BA before, and you are neat and detail oriented. Thanks! 🗃️

In Jamie Lloyd's production of She Loves Me, when Amalia thinks she's been stood up, she will exit the theatre. The cameras will follow her down 8th Ave to the Port Authority. She will sing "Dear Friend" in a bar, and strangers will assume she means something else and offer her money for sex.

Last night, A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit to defend the Institute for Museum and Library Services. It requires the Trump administration to reverse the steps it has taken to dismantle IMLS, restore employees, and release grant funding.

Proud of my alma mater for this. Any institution that bends the knee to this fascist madman at this critical moment in American history should be permanently shunned—be it law firm, university, or state agency.
Harvard Will Not Comply With a List of Trump Administration Demands
Federal officials said Harvard must enact “merit-based reform” in hiring and admissions, among other things. Harvard called the demands unlawful.

I am begging blue state governors to have lunch this week with your adjutant general of the National Guard.

Cannot stress enough how important this relationship is going to be in the near future.

Federal employees have received a copy of the deferred resignation agreement.

Contains a lot of brow-raising lines such as, "Employee waives any claim that could be brought on Employee’s behalf by another entity, including Employee’s labor union."
