Economic-progressive Dem posting on politics, law, pet-rescue efforts. Was prolific on Twitter/X. Native Upper Midwesterner living in north central FL. Anti-lawn movement fan. #Berner since '15. Have cats. Views my own, but you may borrow them.

Had Dems had an actual primary season, or even a mini one in the month leading to the Convention - and nominated an articulate structural-economic progressive instead of @hillaryclinton.bsky.social-the-sequal who equated donations from billionaires with likelihood of winning, we'd have won.

Really.
I’m sorry I also wish the world was simple and all our policies automatically made us popular. It really, really does not seem like this is the case. We can self-delude and continue to nobly get our clocks cleaned by fascists, or we can try to understand what is happening so we can fight back

Keyword: “relevant.” Translation: nothing to see here.

No one should trust the DOJ to decide what counts as relevant. We all know there are millions of unreleased docs.

🚨 The DOJ says it has released all of its “relevant” records on Jeffrey Epstein, but some lawmakers are demanding more.

There was big energy in Albany last week for getting NY State to allow 17-year-olds to vote in primaries if they'll be 18 by the election. It did my old heart good to see 17-year-olds there in force to promote it.

3/ only if those terms meant constant, performative didactic language instruction. 'Course @sanders.senate.gov in '15/'16 & '19/'20, and @aoc.bsky.social in '18, campaigned mostly on structural-economic progressivism, not on culture wars, and won primaries w/ working class and (Bernie) rural votes.

2/ The intensity of the woke-language juggernaut was *instead of* any meaningful structural-economic proposals, or even mention of any. So the right was able to compress the terms "progressive" or "liberal" into identity politics per se. Progressive? Viscerally bad if you're working class, but ..

1/ Geeez, I hope it is. @kamalaharris.com is a prime example of the success of Wall St, Silicon Valley and other billionaires in controlling the party by funneling huge payments to the party's Consultant/Pollster Industrial Complex via huge donations to centrist Dems' campaigns. It tanked the party.

Even the groups he mentioned are mongrels. We are all the sum of the world but with various concentrations of particular peoples.
I'm 100% Irish, which means I'm Celtic, Anglo, Norman, Norse, plus a multitude of others.
And that's just ethnicity. For culture it's even more diverse

Measles is a bellwether. Because it’s the most contagious vaccine-preventable disease, when vaccination rates drop, it’s the first to start spreading.

Now we’ve got mumps rolling up.

Expect more.

This is just the beginning of RFK Jr.’s successful infectious disease reintroduction plan.

THIS:
Prohibit the use of funds to ship detainees out of state. Cut off funding for any facility detaining anyone without bond unless they have committed a violent crime, are a flight risk, and/or pose a threat to public safety.
This must be the beginning, not the end, of refashioning ICE, Border Control, and DHS. What meaningful reforms can they get passed in the short run to save lives, reduce terror inflicted on mostly Hispanic and Black communities, and protect constitutional rights? open.substack.com/pub/contrari...
