Hello to all the lovely ppl who have recently followed me. I’m at an odd career crossroads rn, so my posts are everywhere—but they mostly orbit around Qs on how to actually make a better world for the kids. All the kids.

This isn’t just Apple’s responsibility basically any country on earth could put pressure on them. They have a pedophile robot. Every nation on earth is complicit at this point. Nobody wants to do anything.

I hope Sue Biniaz’s take (and she is in a position to know these things having worked on the issues a long time at State) that the US could rejoin the UNFCCC easily, is what happens. I also hope thar groups litigate the withdrawal as well though am less confident that would win in court.
"Because the U.S. entered the UNFCCC with advice and consent of the Senate in 1992, it’s our legal view that it also must be exited using the same process in reciprocation... Letting this lawless move stand could shut the U.S. out of climate diplomacy forever"

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

Sooo… for all the talk of the need to support international law in this statement, no mention of the illegality of a country militarily swooping in to abduct the ruler of another country? We save those statements for aggressors like Putin & Xi, but not Trump. Gotcha.

If Ru/Ch are behind Trump, “chaos reigns” sounds like a win from their perspective.
Yes, our new national security doctrine, now called the Donroe Doctrine, is one of surrender, not war.

And it guarantees a future for America that is less prosperous, less safe, and less free.
We must also marvel at the titanic idiocy of our new "Donroe Doctrine" for it turns America from a global power into a regional one by choice.

I still can't really believe they are going through with this for it is so batshit f-ing crazy, and does so much lasting harm to our interests.

True. Albeit there is precedent of oil industry publicly messaging one thing while lobbying or back room pressuring for another. In Canada for Kyoto oil industry constantly said they had priced it in & were good to go, but then Harper killed it saying it wasn’t feasible / too expensive. Go figure.
The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane

Rubio has been thinking about how to move the game pieces to the places needed to bring down the Cuban regime for 30 years.

Trump has experienced cognitive collapse and Vance is sinking into very online groyper delusions, but Rubio is an intelligent and ruthless operator not to be underestimated.

Pro democracy arab intellectuals used to say that there was a difference between the US and Russia or China, because the US at least rhetorically espoused particular ideals. That space between reality and rhetoric could be leveraged, they thought.

There's no such delusion today

I still boggle at this.

A prominent X user posted a ** literal child rape & snuff film **, or stills from it. He was autobanned.

Musk *personally* brought that CSAM poster (DomLucre) back, and that should-be-felon is regularly on Fox and was invited by Trump to the White House
This piece refuses to mention that Musk personally restored the count of a user who shared CSAM material on the platform, and *pays that user to be on the platform*. Why do cover up this pertinent fact? And why is the author’s byline linked to their profile on the child sexual abuse platform?
