Hello to all the lovely ppl who have recently followed me. I’m at an odd career crossroads rn, so my posts are everywhere—but they mostly orbit around Qs on how to actually make a better world for the kids. All the kids.

Capitalism is *all about*, at its core, building decentralized systems which on inspection turn out to be centrally controlled, or controlled via a "one dollar one vote" democracy of the five or six richest people in the system.

The decentralized internet systems that capitalism builds reflect this

The reason why Elon, Vance and everyone are piling on the EU right now is that it's the wild card. It's the only major player who is not entirely on board yet with Sphere of Influence 2.0. This is why, over the next few years, you will see an all-out effort by the US to support EU's right-wing gov.
Sounds like we are going back to a 19th-century "sphere of influence" world order. Everyone is beginning to mark their territory. The EU is the wild card. Both Russia & the US covet pieces of the EU. China, meanwhile, needs a rich, but not necessarily strong Europe, as a buyer for its goods.
The Trump admin announced a “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine. The original doctrine was a warning to Europe to stay out of the Americas. The new collary is a shot across the bow at China. www.politico.com/news/2025/12...

•Dropped charges on Israeli officials and pledged not to indict anymore
•Stopped investigating crimes in Afghanistan
•Amended the ICC treaty

the ICC said: no
Exclusive: ICC shuns US demands to drop Israel war crimes probe and amend treaty
Washington also called for end to Afghanistan investigation and change to Rome Statute in return for lifting sanctions

Other countries will use this to justify doing the same.
