Agreed: which is why their play is to not only attempt to destroy the #ICC but to coerce states into amending the Rome Statute in order to grant themselves impunity.

They could not make themselves look more guilty.
The thing is that Trump, Vance, Rubio, et al. also absolutely know the Court has jurisdiction over US nationals for crimes with elements on the territory of ICC States Parties, and they are absolutely terrified by it

Good on Norway to only on express support for the #ICC, but name the US as the source of threats against the Court and rule of law 👇

That may seem obvious, but this isn't something Canada has done.

Do we have the will and principles to do so, @anitaoakvilleeast.bsky.social?

Very good to see this.

Canadian leaders, like Ambassador Rae, should be able to call a spade a spade.

It's low hanging fruit. This #ICC is a court we helped build & claim to support. Those under attack by Trump are good people and include our own citizens.

With wings back, let it fly, Mr. Rae.

People in Gaza flee ongoing violence (Photo: Reuters) Atrocities in Sudan, Gaza, and Ukraine raise a question: do people in countries far away, like Canada, have a role in addressing the suffering of others? While these conflicts can appear remote, affecting only distant strangers, the horrors they produce increase the chances that not only victims, but also perpetrators, seek to enter Canada.
