Can I just say that that was HORRIBLE?? Trying to answer those questions… the way they were worded was 100% designed to make you agree with what the government are doing. Weasel-worded doesn’t do it justice. I went off in the comment boxes. Vile, vile, vile.

Thank you! Thank you for taking that time and going through it. I also spent a lot of time complaining about the way it was presented to make it too difficult even for average English as first language speakers to get the gist of their plans.

As someone who naturalised two weeks ago, I can confidently say that the immigration process in the UK is already expensive, humiliating, dehumanising, and inequitable. These proposals seek to make the whole thing worse and crueller at every stage.
If you know anyone who's ever come to the UK to live alongside you, and you'd either miss them if they were gone, or at the very least reckon they deserve to be treated humanely, please put aside some time to fill this in.
Tomorrow is the last day for people living in the UK to complete a govt consultation on particular immigration proposals. Here's my earlier post about it, which includes the links and background information.
Their proposals are cruel bollocks that need to be stopped.

As someone who naturalised two weeks ago, I can confidently say that the immigration process in the UK is already expensive, humiliating, dehumanising, and inequitable. These proposals seek to make the whole thing worse and crueller at every stage.
