Will AI and data centres be the main drivers of future electricity demand?

No. The biggest drivers will be the electrification of industry, transport and buildings. When powered by clean electricity, the benefits are fundamental: vastly higher efficiency, dramatically lower emissions & cleaner air.

notice how after ilhan omar was attacked by a maga true believer parroting donald trump, the mainstream media didnt kick off a multi-day orgy about how trump and other republicans need to change their tone and "lower the temperature"?

that discourse only goes one way for the msm.

But it's Reform and so they just get away with it.

Calling transphobia a 'gateway drug' to the far right undersells it. It's pure accelerant. Grimly fascinating to guess what crankery becomes any famous transphobe's secondary obsession, cos they all have one: 15 minute cities are fascism! Grok noncing is cool! ICE are good! We should kill all dogs!

The leaders of Albania & Azerbaijan were filmed mocking US Trump for claiming he ended a war between the 2 countries, even though they have never fought each other.

The world thinks that the occupant is a joke.
He’s destroying our country. Congress must act.

The Jan.6 committee subpoenaed Trump, but withdrew it after his lawyers cited legal precedent shielding ex-presidents from congressional appearances. The committee decided not to pursue it. But Republicans believe Clinton can be held in contempt for refusing to appear. Funny how that works isn’t it?

You're forgetting that third category.

One of the reasons why Carney was able to give such a powerful speech is that he has been thinking of these issues for a long time. He watched firsthand in 2016 as Britain committed what he considered to be a monumental act of stupidity with Brexit. Here he alludes to it directly

You’ll notice the same American state media that relentlessly attacked President Biden over his age as he did good work are normalizing a nearly 80 year old dangerous criminal as he displays clear signs of dementia whilst trying to destroy the world. They have failed humanity.

Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. Biden obviously had a lot to do to repair the damage from Trump's first term. But I remember folks pleading with elected Democrats that two things topped that long list:

— bring down justice quickly and like a hammer on all the insurrectionists, including Trump

— shore up our institutions
