Interesting analysis of vehicle registrations in Australia
Some key takeaways for me:
- there are way more electric motorbikes being registered than I expected
- there are way fewer electric buses than I realised

I'm sorry but WTF are LXRA thinking with this design??

Oh yeah, let's just tell cyclists to stop in the middle of the road in order to turn right, I'm sure a dirty great SUV won't immediately plough through them.

Glad to see InfraVic making this abundantly clear. There is no reason the government couldn't start building Melton electrification at the same time as the Sunshine superhub, rather than waiting till it's done - in fact it'd be less disruptive to build them together www.theage.com.au/national/vic...
Infrastructure Victoria objects to government delay on key rail upgrade for the west
Plans to extend the Metro network to Melton should be accelerated, the state’s infrastructure adviser says, but the state government has said it will wait until after 2030.

In any other context, what would we think about some unseen stranger eavesdropping on kids’ conversations to see what they’re talking about?
I missed that Communications Minister Anika Wells said that kids talking on social media about plans to get around the teen ban will be picked up by the platforms as a signal that they are under 16.

The Jacinta Allan Labor Government’s decision to introduce life sentences for children proves once again that Labor is only interested in cynical attempts to look tough - not implementing policies that actually work to improve community safety. 🧵 (1/4)

Minns knows this is untrue. NSW Police do not need more powers, they need to stop providing police protection to Nazis. Same applies to Victoria Police.

In the 1990s in San Francisco, I remember when the familiar sound of foghorns on the bay ceased to be necessary for maritime navigation.

People immediately yelled at the city government demanding that it install a fake foghorn to preserve the ambience.
I don't doubt this for a second and once you understand this, you will understand a lot about people

If Chris Minns stubbed his toe, he'd say the answer is more police powers.

Cops aren't the solution to racism, they're the problem.

It's already a crime to incite hatred based on race, but the cops didn't care - in fact they approved the Form 1 for the rally!

When connecting between infrequent services, it’s sheer luck whether it’s a short wait or a long one. That’s one reason better service frequency is so important to cut waiting times and make public transport more competitive with driving.

twitter hiding replies from me is how my stalker was able to reply to me for months talking about raping me and cutting me into pieces without my knowledge. he was violating my protection order and i didn’t even know it.

it kept him out of jail.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

Hiding replies without my consent is *dangerous to me*

I use the mute function extremely carefully for a reason

I need to know if people are being violent at me so I can take action to protect myself

I need to be able to choose for myself who hidden

Thanks I hate it.

Also like I enjoy artisinal blocking, and I want to know if people are saying toxic things to me so I can deny them access to my posts in the future???

I quite enjoyed a lot of the takedowns of Bill Gates' EA brain snap on climate. It is really deadassed in a number of ways.

But no-one mentioned the most important thing. He isn't *just* full of shit. He knows he is full of shit.

I can prove it: timinclimate.medium.com/even-bill-ga...
