I have lived in DC for 10 years this week! That’s wild. So much has changed. I never thought I would get to have the career I have now, that it would take the twists and turns it has. I found love and got a dog and had a baby here. Also there are now like seven national guards here for some reason?

Hearing from a friend how ICE on Tues was hanging out near both campuses of Mundo Verde in DC, a bilingual public elementary school, but never attempted entry.
Why? In part bc "10 parents at each campus" offered to take shifts of working outside the school all day.
That's community right there.

Friends in DC: If you are able, please show up to (peacefully) stand with the parents of Mundo Verde School on P Street to keep ICE out of the building. Parents need help maintaining the human chain, and could use water + snacks for the rest of the week. Please spread the word!!
UPDATE: School official tells me ICE is in the area but the news cameras parked in front of Mundo Verde is likely a deterrent.
UPDATE: The Mundo Verde School tells me they are aware of the pending ICE raids and have contacted their attorneys.

Have been saying this for a while now, but, if picking this fight is a political loser, then all is lost. So we might as well act on the premise that it isn't.
I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.
