Thinking about Part 2 how Chainsaw Man the Concept/Superhero was something Makima created in order to weaken the Chainsaw Devil, but it is also clearly based on her own perceptions of Chainsaw Man as the Hero of Hell. But now that she has gone, the world has clung to that ideal, most important Denji

"Where do I start if I wanna read batman?" well you could read the Killing Joke or Crisis or the Dark Knight Returns or Year one or the Long Halloween or the original detective comics and DON'T READ ALL STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN or-
I mean I'm not a comic books reader, and I'm prolly not gonna watcha a 1.5-hour video about this, but I'm guessing at least part of the reason is that western comic books just constantly reset, reboot, and retell the same fucking stories over and over forever, they're pointless.

to me Samus is in her ship slumped over a chair, exhausted, lazily eating ramen after striking out with some alien girl at a bar. she's three days behind on laundry and four days behind on everything else. she has exactly seven space dollars

we need to take the power suited characters and power suits in fiction away from the corporations because they clearly don't know what the fuck to do with them

Its easy to overlook since its not clear whats going on with that first Fakesaw Man, but god Fakesaw/Goresaw is such a funny ass character. Hilarious, I love every second of his cheesy ass dialog.

Asa/Yuko is fascinating to me. I think Fujimoto must know that he framed that relationship is a sort of pure/fleeting love, that was doomed because of Yukos fixation and death by the Concept of Chainsaw Man. Then we reintroduce Denji as love interest, whos fixated on the Concept of Chainsaw Man

:( Truly the most gutting part of fighting Makima for him wasn't her murdering every person he'd ever loved or cared about and destroying his life to torture him. He could have forgiven all of that if she'd done that because he was special to her. The horror was realizing that she never cared at all

There is not enough content about how much Pochita loves Denji. The idea of a world-threatening monster that kills all that gets near it, sealed in the body of some kid, and the biggest reveal is what we already knew, that he loves Denji more than anything and would do anything to make him happy.

Imo Chainsaw Man is primarily about abuse and the split focus on global and individual events is to emphasize the similarities between a nation abusing its citizens/other nations and an individual abusing another individual

it's heartbreaking to watch asa's saviour-mentality develop from a reawakened kindness to the accidents she's had, allowing herself to protect others despite the ways her intentions were twisted or failed to fulfill impossibly sublime outcomes before, into a fixation
