I saw the ending of chainsaw man in a vision… Denji holding pochita one last time before saying farewell… asa strangling bird form yoru in her hands and finally taking back her body…
It’s not a common criticism but I’ve seen ppl say that it’s “too late” for Asa’s story to be given the focus and payoff it deserves. I’d lowkenuinely agree if it wasn’t fujimoto; if he can switch up people’s perception of fumiko with literally less than a page, then he can stick the landing with Asa

Perfect line to show the core difference between Denji and Asa, no matter how hard Asa tries to buy into the “ignorance is bliss” mindset that Denji encouraged her to have she can’t. It’s why she doesn’t hesitate to open the door, why she chases the monster in the alley instead of locking it away

So I still don’t buy into fight club fully but I do think it’s a possible route for Asa to “absorb” yoru’s war devil powers while staying herself, something something embracing the selfish side of her while not having war eaten by pochita so she can be remembered, essentially I just want this

Something I’ll always appreciate about gege’s writing is his insistence on adding a poetic spin to the narration, it really elevates standard shonen fights into a new level. bararaga vs dabura is a great example of his writing strengths
