Instead of nice mushrooms I now see lots of bunnies in my feed. Where did the nice mushrooms go?

Reminder: Impeachment is the legal, nonviolent route to removing a President.

It is the path that the Constitution provides to protect democracy.

Impeachment is the remedy when a President commits impeachable offenses.

It's that simple.

I realized today that there's not another candy holiday until Halloween! We need a summer candy holiday!

This happened in TN. We've lost 13 rural hospitals since 2010, primarily because our state legislature has refused to expand Medicaid when the ACA was enacted.
7.5% of people in rural Missouri are on Medicaid. I don't think people in these small communities like the one I live in realize that once Medicaid is axed, most of the rural hospitals will close down.

They won't be able to make it without the reimbursement from Medicaid.

When I type on my phone, I will invariably type "fir" when I mean "for". I don't think I have ever meant "fir". Why can't my phone just fix it for me???

If only someone had warned them about this 🤷‍♀️
NEW: Pregnancy became far more dangerous in Texas after the state banned abortion, according to ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis, which found the sepsis rate for women hospitalized as they miscarried in the 2nd trimester shot up by more than 50%.

ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis is the most detailed look yet into a rise in life-threatening complications for women experiencing pregnancy loss under Texas’ abortion ban.

Well I hadn't even considered this, but now that I think about it...
Today in digital authoritarianism prepping: downloading all my Kindle books (I know -- why did I buy 500 kindle books over the past decade? because I was a fool!) and all my Google docs (it's time to go back to my old friend, Open Office).

I actually had to renew because I've got a trip coming up and my current passport was expiring this year. With online renewal now available, the hardest part was uploading an acceptable photo, and even that wasn't too hard, just frustrating. Do it now while you still can!
My biggest piece of advice I can give you right now.
Renew your passport.
Make sure it is up to date.

He thinks THEY are pissed? I'm so pissed i can't even see straight
In the past 26 hours, the American national anthem has been booed at:

Ottawa Senators game
Calgary Flames game
Toronto Raptors game
Vancouver Canucks game

More to come. And it’s totally justified. We’re pissed.

How are you protecting your peace?
Late last year, I bought myself a small set of watercolors, a few brushes and a sketchbook.

Update - I added myself to the mailing lists, and I get one every day. Yesterday's was about a form of sleeping sickness in Ghana that has been nearly eradicated, but there was one earlier in the week about bird flu. Find sources you trust and keep yourself informed!
This is a great idea. I just commented to someone today about what bad timing it is for US agency communications to be paused, so if they end up being muted by the current administration, we'll still be able to get knowledgeable info.

I'm going to check this out. I encourage you to do the same.
I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

Be the solution!
Want a great slogan for midterms?
"If you FAFO and are struggling because of Trump policies, we understand. The Dems are here for you. Tell us how we can help you "

You get the point.

FAFO will be the theme. Be the solution.

One of the only posts I like (❤) each week before I even read it. (And why are my hearts showing as black? It's supposed to be red!)
During the week a dog named Bunsen texts his family.

Those texts are saved.

Today they are shared.

Fascinating the things people know!
I’m always looking for things that explain a lot but that people have a hard time remembering.

Examples: Air is stuff. Pee comes from blood. All land vertebrates have a single common ancestor. Venus is bright enough to cast visible shadows. Clouds are heavy. Bones are alive.

Any others you know?

Nicklesocks left me yesterday, on to a new adventure. She was 16, soon to be 17. She came to us at Christmas time in 2008, and oversaw a lot of changes to her household. My husband lovingly cleaned up her eating and sleeping areas so I didn't have to. Today I still look for her. #CatsofBluesky
