I live across the street from a police station. The accidental sounds and sirens that come from parked police vehicles are daily and numerous. The whistles don't make cops (of any sort) jumpy, it's the realization that normal people hate them and don't want them there.
“Don’t blow a whistle when you see ICE, it might traumatize someone and cause ICE agents to escalate their brutality” is some insane mental gymnastics and victim blaming.

Border security is a pain in the ass. Waiting three hours at ORD to go home after vacation is the worst part about international travel. The problem is the morons in the States who feel the need to dictate who should and shouldn't be in the States.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

high school nostalgia is insane. even with a car and a driver's license i could barely do anything. i was broke. i couldn't go to most shows because i wasn't 21. i was on a multi-year plotting operation to get myself out of the suburbs. i did extra-curriculars to get myself out of the house.
