I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.
And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.

I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

My wife said AI in Outlook has started to send summary notes about emails and the summaries are longer than the emails and full of wrong info lol. "I got a 5 word email from my coworker that said 'Lunch will be at 1' and the summary said 'Your lunch meeting is now at 11' lmaoo

Eg føler ogso filmane hans ikkje har den "billige" kjensla ein ofte får frå norske filmar. Dei kjennest berre bra ut, ikkje på trass av å vera norske produksjonar. Joachim Trier gjer noko eg ikkje har sett i norsk film før.

Vi vart kasta ut av eit hus vi trudde vi skulle bu i langtids. Måtte få hjelp av masse familievener og slikt. Eg måtte taka fleire titusen frå sparekonto for å kunna betala dobbelt leige og depositum. Miserabel affære.

Fremover tenker jeg at utleiere må bo minst ett år i kåken de planlegger å leie ut, sånn for kvalitetssikring. Vanskelig? Ja, så klart. Det er også vanskelig å bo omringet av mugg, med hull i vinduskarmer, grus som renner inn i kjøkkenskap, og verre. Vil du ikke bo sånn? Ikke leietagere, heller!

Eg kan trøyste meg med at eg brukte starten av 20-åra og slutten av tenåra på å reise. Det er jo éin (vanleg) ting med ungdomsåra ein burde gjera. Eg har ogso fått reist masse i Noreg/Norden, — skikkeleg — som eg er takksam for.
Trist at eg berre kastar bort resten av 20-åra mine. Eg veit at tid/alder og sånn er konstrukt og berre tal. Men det kjennest ikkje godt ut. Tenåra og 20-åra gjekk berre bort på å vera trist, traumatisert, sint og einsam.

They can't factor in that most people have real genuine feelings and beliefs because none of them actually do. They think everyone is just faking it like they are. I've met a few of these people and they really just can't wrap their minds around it
