Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Alice fucking Wong never had a “job,” scraped by on freelance gigs, had to win a MacArthur to keep from being warehoused in an institution, and got laid off a week before she died by Teen Vogue…

…and this dipshit Nuzzi gets like one of the few writing gigs in America? At Vanity Fair?

This Soviet cassette of Depeche Mode's Speak and Spell strangely makes it look like a classical album.

The cyrillic text reads "Instrumental-Vocal Ensemble 'Depeche Mode' Directed by Vincent Clarke".

No, seriously.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

The best way to support our troops this Veterans Day is to recognize that the Military Industrial Complex uses the economic and carceral drafts to send vulnerable kids to kill and destroy peoples of the Global Majority across the world, and ending imperialism means our veterans stay alive and whole.

the fact that Sandwich Guy is facing this 'wich trial at all is evidence of subpar justice. he is a hero being put through the judicial grinder. i hope the jury wraps up a not guilty verdict without delay or loafing around

going back to ringing the bell that Trump's win in 2024 wasn't because of a huge cultural shift to the right, especially among young voter blocks that went for him, as much as it was a general frustration with Biden, with centrism, and with the lack of a clearly articulated positive vision from dems

The contrast between what Obama was expected to do to atone for Jeremiah Wright's sermons, which were not at all racist, and what Graham Platner is not expected to do to atone for his own public declarations, which are, is very revealing.
I don’t run a reform school for racism. I’m serious. He could, however, consult with people who do. Read books? I don’t know.

I do believe that should those acts present themselves during a campaign, voters can judge them — they can find them sufficient or wanting. Neither would be a purity test.

Several years in this revolution, half of the US GDP dumped to make these tools free, and i can't think of a single generated artifact, text, image, sound, video that had a significant cultural impact.

Did not need this big an oof this early in my day but: oof.
Big part of working through childhood CPTSD is engaging with a kind of depressing fact: you are developmentally stunted, and have been for probably your entire life.

But it's likely you are stunted in some senses and hyper-developed in others, which is why you can seem "high functioning."
