Hmmm….
Do you remember during the election, when it was “pet-eating” Haitians who were “destroying middle America”?

And now the blame has suddenly shifted to “daycare-defrauding” Somalis?

What could Haitians and Somalis possibly have in common that might lead Republicans to target them, I wonder

Homeland Security said Tuesday that it launched what it described as the largest immigration enforcement operation ever carried out, tied to allegations of fraud involving Somali residents in Minnesota. n.pr/4aOMJp5

i just don't think you get to say "America wants our land, our resources, our water, our country. But these are not idle threats. President Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us. That will never, that will never ever happen" in your election speech and then say stuff like this
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney clarifies position on the United States using military force to annex Greenland:

"We stand with Denmark, we stand with Greenland, our closest partnership is with the United States, and we'll work with everybody to make sure we move forward together"

I'm just some guy, but my one of my most deeply held beliefs about Rome is that both the republic and the empire and then empire that wasn't as big and spoke green collapsed because the people with all resources used them to get out paying taxes.
But I also think James Tan has done a good job of explaining how Roman tributum (the land tax in Italy) shifts money around in a way that gets more households able to provide a heavy infantryman and Roman colonization in Italy is basically terraforming Italy into an infantry-generation-machine.

If you follow this argument through to its logical conclusion there should be a UK Government channel on pornhub.
Cabinet Office Minister Baroness Anderson tells the Lords the Government will keep on using X.

"I still believe that X is an appropriate platform to use because I believe in freedom of speech..."

"It is incredibly important that there is a counter narrative on those platforms," she says.

They won't but the press should be calling this shit out on a personal, individual level. Some has to suggest to Johnson or Rubio or whoever that "If you know so little about what's happening, perhaps you should step a side in favour of some one who does?"
RUBIO: Maduro was indicted. Nobody ever did anything about it.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hernandez was convicted by a jury

RUBIO: The pardon authority is something I'm not involved in

STEPHANOPOULOS: Do you support it?

RUBIO: I wasn't involved in those deliberations. I haven't looked at the case file.

People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.

We can simultaneously believe Maduro was a terrible leader and needed to go and that the US had NO RIGHT to remove him unilaterally.
We have no right to be invading any country, but if we don't stand up against this attack on Venezuela, it won't be the last by our government.
Why should Trump stop at Venezuela? They’re champing at the bit for territorial expansion. Katie Miller, Stephen Miller‘s wife, posted a map of Greenland marked as a US territory with the words „SOON“.

you simply do not have to preface your statements about this with “but Maduro sucks”

whether or not Maduro sucks is entirely beside the point - we invaded another country and grabbed their leader with no justification other than “we wanted to”

don’t give them cover on it

Look, I know every one has their own motivations and moral compass, but I just think when the LLM that called itself Mecha-Hitler starts posting CSAM, its time to get off the app.

Sure, we don’t know 100% if Musk et al specifically intended to use Grok as as a blame absorption fire shield - but it is nevertheless DOING that right now, and with some success.

Whether intended or no, Grok remains a man-made artifact that is producing a RESULT of deflecting blame from humans.

When Grok takes the blame for generating CSAM while Musk and X refuse to do so, Grok is still very much “acting” as a man-made artifact doing something it was imbued by a human with the capacity to do
